The Sacramento Kings will look to fill their front office vacancy by meeting with former Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The vacancy was a direct product of three-month product Scott Perry leaving the organization to take the New York Knicks‘ general manager job, leaving an empty seat in the organization.

Smith had a short six-year career as a player in the NBA, retiring due to a knee injury and consequently playing overseas, earning MVP honors in the Swedish League and retiring again immediately after to end it in a high note.

As an executive, Smith split his time between the Golden State Warriors and the Magic, becoming the general manager of the latter from 2006-12.

He then took a job as a coach of the Grand Rapids Drive of the now-G-League for two seasons, and is now working as an assistant coach and head of player development for the Detroit Pistons.

Smith has nearly two decades of front office experience and is well-regarded among suits in the NBA, making him a likely candidate to net the job opening in a Kings organization that has made big strides this offseason in changing a maligned culture that they sported for the better part of this decade.
