Kirk Cousins and Le'Veon Bell, sitting in a tree …

The football world always knew how the two felt about each other, but now, it comes at us in print. The soon-to-be free agent quarterback set to possibly become the richest man in the NFL loves himself some of the soon-to-be running back whose talent puts him atop the NFL.

He went as far as to reveal that he told the Washington Redskins to draft him in 2013, via Jeff Eisenband of the Postgame.

“Le’Veon is so talented and he was our best running back the minute he stepped on campus at Michigan State,” Cousins said. “And I remember scouts from the Redskins asking me about him going into the draft. They said, ‘Tell us about Le’Veon.’ I said, ‘I haven’t seen a lot of NFL backs. I’ve only been in the league one year. But I don’t know what he can’t do. He can pass protect, he can catch the ball, he can run routes, he can run downhill, he’s fast, he has a spin move, he can jump over people. I don’t know where the weakness is, so that’s all I can tell you.’ He’s still showing there’s not many things he can’t do.”

Cousins and Bell played two seasons together with the Spartans. In each season, 11 games were won. As to why the Skins didn't listen to their then backup quarterback …

“You’d have to go ask them. I’m not an evaluator. I’m not a scout. I just play quarterback,” Cousins said.

Twenty-seventeen was a terrific season for both players. In D.C., Cousins further cemented his place among the quarterback ranks with 4,093 yards and 27 touchdowns through the air. Bell, 25, racked up 1,946 yards from scrimmage to go along with 11 touchdowns.

Each free agent will cost every suitor a bundle, but if a team were to actually possess the ambition and checkbook to acquire both, Kirk Cousins may just play football in that special zone usually labeled Cloud 9.
