The slumping New York Knicks suffered yet another defeat as they were blitzed, 115-97, by the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks were simply flat out of the gates, going down by 26 points by halftime. They have now dropped five of their last six games to go back down below .500 for the first time since the start of November.

After the game, Knicks big man Enes Kanter didn’t hold back his words as he ripped the team’s performance, calling them “soft.”

“If you look at it overall we just did nothing well tonight,’’ Kanter said per the New York Post's Marc Berman. “Offensively, defensively, we didn’t move the ball well. We just played soft, we had no energy. We cannot play like that in a road game. I’m not going to make an excuse it was a back-to-back. We just played soft.’’

The Knicks had a couple of big excuses they could point to in order to explain their poor play. Aside from the fact that they were playing the second night of a back-to-back, they were also without their top two scorers in Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. for the second straight game.

However, Kanter has every right to call his team out for the team’s lack of fight, particularly on the road. The Knicks have now dropped to 1-7 outside of Madison Square Garden this season, and have lost their last five road games by at least 12 points. That's an unacceptable stretch, one that has to change soon from the Knicks' perspective.
