The New York Knicks received some tough news amid a COVID-19 outbreak in the NBA. Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols.

That's bad news for a struggling Knicks team that has gone 3-7 in their last 10 games. Not only do the Knicks have a banged-up Derrick Rose, who is dealing with an ankle injury, on their roster, but they have also lost RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin and now Immanuel Quickley to the health and safety protocols.

It's particularly tough because Quickley was coming off of a strong effort on Thursday night against the Houston Rockets, which saw him score 24 points and drain seven threes in New York's victory.

The Knicks will have to rely on Rose and Evan Fournier in the backcourt even more now without Quickley, as well as Miles McBride, who scored 15 points against Houston.

The Knicks really can't afford to have any more players enter the health and safety protocols, particularly with the way the team is playing at the moment.

New York has fallen to last place in the Atlantic Division and out of a spot in the NBA's play-in tournament. The road forward isn't getting any easier either, especially with Immanuel Quickley entering the health and safety protocols.
