When it comes to New York Knicks newly-acquired point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, head coach Jeff Hornacek has a long-term plan in place for the 21-year old. According to a tweet on Wednesday afternoon from Ian Begley of the New York Post, Hornacek thinks that the sky is the limit for Mudiay with the Knicks.

“I think he’s got another gear he can go to. We’ve seen bits and pieces of it,” coach Hornacek said of Mudiay. “He’s trying to get into that top type conditioning he can do that all the time.”

Mudiay finished Monday night's 125-111 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night with a team-high 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting, seven assists, and two steals.

However, in order for him to find his confidence in Hornacek's lineup, Mudiay needs to consistently find his rhythm when shooting from behind the arc.

“Just stayed in the gym, kept working. Went in there last night after practice, got a bunch of reps up. I always stay confident though. My confidence never left. Like I said, just trying to figure out which plays would be a good play for me to set my feet, get myself going for a couple threes,” Mudiay said.

In his short tenure so far with the Knicks after being acquired from the Denver Nuggets, Mudiay has put up some pretty solid numbers in limited minutes. With just six games under his belt in New York, Mudiay is currently averaging 11.7 points, 5.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game in 24.7 minutes of action per contest.
