The New York Knicks look like a completely different team so far in the 2017-18 NBA season than in years past. Although there are a number of reasons for their resurgence, budding superstar Kristaps Porzingis thinks he may have narrowed it down.

During an appearance on The Michael Kay Show on ESPN Radio, Porzingis says the Knicks offense is structured much better with head coach Jeff Hornacek solely in charge.

“This year you can feel that Jeff has more, he's running his own stuff without anybody coming in and telling him what to do or how to do so I think from the top down you can feel that there's more confidence in what we're doing,” Porzingis said. “It's a better feeling this way.”

The comments made by Kristaps Porzingis seem to be aimed at the Knicks' former President of Basketball Operations Phil Jackson. Many of New York's troubles in the past stemmed from Jackson's notorious desire for his teams to run the triangle offense.

However, after an inauspicious offseason that had even suggested Kristaps Porzingis was available for trade at one point, Phil Jackson's bitter departure came to fruition. With him gone, this has given Jeff Hornacek the green light to go ahead and run the offense he pleases, which has shown to involve a heavy dose of Porzingis.
