The New York Knicks have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with small forward Troy Williams, Shams Charania of The Vertical reported on Monday afternoon.

In just eight games for the Knicks, Williams has averaged 8.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in just 13.9 minutes of action per contest. His second 10-day contract with the team expired on Monday and New York decided to reward him with a two-year contract.

Williams, a 23-year-old forward out of Indiana University who went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, has also spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets. After the Rockets signed veteran Joe Johnson, Williams was waived to create a roster spot for the NBA veteran.

Williams signed his first 10-day contract with the Knicks back on Feb. 21 and has played pretty well in limited minutes with New York.

Williams had his best game of the 2017-18 season on Friday night in a 120-112 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks when he had 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting in 26 minutes of action.

It has been a very tough stretch of the season for the Knicks that has been overshadowed by injuries and a large amount of inconsistency, but Williams seems to be a bright spot as of late. However, with a partial guarantee on his deal for the 2018-19 season, Williams will likely need to have a strong training camp and preseason in order to make the Knicks' final roster.
