L.A. Clippers' free agent addition Willie Reed was arrested on early Sunday morning in connection to domestic violence charges stemming from an incident that occurred at his home in Miami.

In light of the arrest, the Clippers have sent out a press release on the situation, according to Brad Turner of the LA Times.

The 27-year-old had allegedly been in a physical altercation with his wife, Jasmine Reed, during an argument on Saturday night. The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that his wife stated that he knocked her to the ground at one point along with grabbing her hair, shirt, and arm at in another moment that evening.

This now may put Reed's future with the Clippers in complete jeopardy as the league has adopted a no-tolerance policy intended for these situations that went into effect on July 1. According to rule, commissioner Adam Silver has the power to fine, suspend, or kick him out of the league depending on what he deems is necessary.

Reed is coming off a breakout year with the Miami Heat as the primary backup to Hassan Whiteside. He had inked a one-year, $1.6 million deal with the Clippers earlier this offseason.
