Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler's 40-point explosion stole Game 3 from the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers. It happened on the same night when Anthony Davis was bothered by early foul trouble which ultimately limited his productivity. He ended with a meager output of 15 points and five rebounds in the 115-104 disappointing loss.

Eager to bounce back, the seven-time All-Star immediately alerted his teammates and coaches after the game that he needed to be glued to Butler come Game 4, sources told Yahoo Sports.

The matchup went according to plan as Butler was only held to 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting, 10 rebounds, and nine assists with the 6'10” forward shadowing him all throughout the contest.

“I just tried to be locked in to him,” Lakers big Anthony Davis said. “We know that the past … the last game, he kind of just took over and imposed his will on the game on both ends of the floor, and we just tried to give him a different look. Tried to make him shoot over a contested hand, finishing over the length at the rim. Just make it tough for him. It was very easy for him in Game 3.”

The 27-year old big man was satisfied with what they showed in the Game 4 win compared to their performance in the previous outing:

“We just wanted to switch it up. I wanted to use a lot of my energy on the defensive end, knowing the other guys on the team were going to make up the absence for me on the offensive end. The guys did a good job making shots, making plays for our team, especially late game. Defensively, I think we were just better overall. We were locked into what we were doing. We still had mistakes but some of the mistakes we had, we just covered for each other. Mistakes are going to happen. But we seemed like we played with a little bit more sense of urgency tonight.”

Anthony Davis also produced on the offensive end, as he chalked up 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists through 42 minutes played. Lebron James also had a better performance and flirted with another near triple-double output with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists en route to a 102-96 win.

Excellent performances are to be expected from the duo once again as the Lakers will look to edge out the Heat and close the series in Game 5 of the 2020 NBA Finals.
