After an all-around performance of 28 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat, one would think that Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James would want to get some rest. After all, the Lakers and Heat played a hard-fought game, which Los Angeles ended up winning, 102-96, to take a 3-1 lead in the series and move to within one win of a championship.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case, as his own Twitter account can attest.

But staying awake in the middle of the night is nothing new for LeBron James. After the win, he admitted in the post-game interview that he doesn’t plan to sleep until the Lakers win the title.

“I am looking forward, once again, to looking at the film tomorrow,” he told Rachel Nichols in the interview. “Do all around the clock treatment and treating it like we play Thursday. I'm going to continue to get the work in and continue to not sleep until the job is done. So, I look forward to the next match.”

But even if staying up in the middle of the night wasn’t exactly a surprise, that didn’t stop fans from having fun on Twitter. And as usual, the replies are way more entertaining than the tweet itself.

Some fans are speculating that it must be the mixture of pressure and excitement of being one win away from a fourth championship that is causing LeBron James to miss out on sleep.

Others referred to a play in the first quarter of Game 4 where James bumped off the Heat’s Tyler Herro on his way to the basket for a thunderous dunk.

Some fans, meanwhile, had a simpler explanation as to why LeBron James seems fine with not getting a full night’s sleep.

Whether he gets five hours of sleep or more, James and the Lakers will have a couple of days of rest before facing Miami in Game 5 of the Finals on Friday night, where they hope to win the franchise’s 17th championship.

Hopefully, this would also mean a full night’s sleep for James.
