Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has been struggling immensely since returning from a calf injury that kept him out for 30 games. In the process, the team has looked helpless as they fight desperately to solidify a top-six spot in the Western Conference.

Surprisingly, the Lakers have actually been even worse with AD on the floor, per StatMuse:

It's hard to fathom that Davis isn't helping LA win games, but it's the exact polar opposite right now. His averages across the board in six appearances since returning are down by a substantial amount. AD has looked slightly exhausted and uninterested at times when on the floor.

In Sunday's loss to the Raptors, the Lakers big man had just 12 points in 33 minutes and has scored over 20 points only twice in six games.

With LeBron James leaving the game early against Toronto with ankle soreness, things couldn't be any grimmer for LA right now. Despite having a carbon copy record with the Blazers, the Lakers sit in sixth place due to their head-to-head against Portland.

But, they've now lost three in a row and are a dismal 3-7 in their last 10. LeBron doesn't seem fully healthy and Davis can't find a rhythm. Meanwhile, Dennis Schroder is in COVID-19 protocols.

A title run seems very unlikely at this point when you have teams like the Brooklyn Nets, Utah Jazz, and Philadelphia 76ers playing tremendous basketball.

Hopefully, James can get healthy and AD finds his dominant self again. Or else, the Lakers' hopes of lifting another Larry O'Brien Trophy will be gone.
