Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard will participate in the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest in Chicago and Anthony Davis would be willing to help Howard.

Howard participated in the Slam Dunk Contest back in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The Lakers big man won the competition in 2008.

Davis won't be competing in the event, but if Howard asks for his help, AD will be there for his teammate:

“I might go out there and help him with something if he wants me to do something,” Davis said, via ESPN. “I actually thought about it when I heard he's going to do it. But me actually participating myself, it probably won't happen.”

The Lakers are expected to guarantee Howard's contract for the rest of the season. Howard, who signed a non-guaranteed contract at the start of the season, would make the veteran's minimum of $2.56 million once his contract is guaranteed by the Lakers.

In 36 games this season, Howard is averaging 7.1 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 73.8 percent from the field and 48.4 percent from the free-throw line.

In his first season with the Lakers, Davis has been a monster on both ends of the court. He’s averaging 27.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 blocks while shooting 50.7 percent from the field, 29.9 percent from beyond the arc and 86.2 percent from the free-throw line.
