The Los Angeles Lakers and Briante Weber have agreed to a one-year deal, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Since going unselected in the 2015 NBA Draft, Weber has bounced around the league over the last couple of years playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, and Charlotte Hornets. During this time, he also played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G-League.

The 24-year-old spent most of this past season serving as a backup to Hornets All-Star guard Kemba Walker after Ramon Sessions suffered a knee injury. He played in 13 games with Charlotte where he averaged 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in just 12.2 minutes per contest. Weber also earned a selection to the All-NBA D-League Second Team, D-League All-Defensive Team, and D-League All-Star Game.

The addition of Weber was likely made as a training camp invite that is set to begin in September and the six-game preseason will tip off on September 30. He marks the 16th player that the Lakers have under contract up to this point in the offseason with 14 being on guaranteed deals. Los Angeles now have eight guards on the roster.
