Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade were once the best shooting guards in the NBA. Fireworks used to fly whenever the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat met, as the two fiery guards would go at it. One of those battles ended in an iconic moment for Kobe Bryant, as he would nail a tough game-winner against Wade and the Heat in a December matchup.

As the official NBA account posted a throwback to this iconic shot and Wade and Bryant's reaction after the game, the Heat legend had something else to add to the story. In a comment, Wade said that the late Lakers icon stood there waiting for him so he couldn't dodge that interaction.

😂 😂 Kobe planted himself right there so i had to pass him on my way out 😂

It's clear that both Wade and Bryant have mutual respect for each other. During their primes, they were considered the number 1 and 2 players in their position. It's a shame that the Lakers and the Heat never made it to the Finals together, as a matchup between Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant in June would have been legendary.

Around this time last year, Wade reposted this same highlight from the Lakers-Heat game. In the caption, he paid tribute to Kobe, saying:

“I now watch this video as beautiful art! Iam now thankful to have had this moment with an idle of mines.”

Kobe Bryant may be gone, but his legacy will always be remembered. Not just by Lakers fans, but by the whole basketball world.
