The new HFR x LeBron 16 is a collaboration between King James and Harlem's Fashion Row. It will hit stores this Friday with a price tag of $200 a pair.

In a statement via Nike, James said that the shoe aims to honor African-American women all over the world. This shoe is another effort by James to use his voice for good causes and continue to prove to everyone that he's more than just an athlete.

Female designers took the LeBron 16 and recalibrated it according to their own imagination. James said that he was inspired by the strong women around him, particularly his mother, wife, and daughter:

“I believe that African American women are some of the strongest people on earth. I grew up around some amazingly strong women and am inspired by the strength I see around me, including my mom, wife and daughter.”

Meline Khatachourian, a Nike global basketball footwear designer who worked closely with James, footwear designer Jason Petrie and HFR, said:

“The collaboration has led to a fusion of something that’s incredibly exciting — not just a shoe, but a message that’s inspiring to other women,” said Khatachourian.

This is another noteworthy initiative from James' camp, as they continue to break barriers in multiple industries.
