Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was enjoying a solid game against the Spurs until he sprained his left ankle on Friday night. Per ESPN's Dave McMenamin, KCP didn't return after the injury:

Caldwell-Pope drained 8 of the Lakers' first 10 points in the third quarter before having to exit. The 27-year old took flight for a dunk, then landed awkwardly on his left ankle, grimacing in pain. He sat on the court for several minutes before eventually making his way to the locker room.

Heading into this contest, KCP was averaging 9.8 points per night while shooting an impressive 52.9% from three-point range. The Lakers have been absolutely lethal from downtown this season and evident by Caldwell-Pope's numbers, you can see why.

He's started all five games for LA this season, serving as the backcourt partner to Dennis Schroder. Luckily it's just a mild sprain, which shouldn't keep the former University of Georgia standout too long.

The Lakers are now 3-2 after another win over the Spurs on Friday. Anthony Davis led the way with 34 points and 11 boards, while LeBron James also dropped 26. Before KCP exited, he had 11 points.

LA will have a day off then travel to Memphis to face the Grizzlies on Sunday.
