The Los Angles Lakers' soap-opera-like season doesn't seem to be slowing down in any way. LeBron James joined the team and helped them win a title. It seemed like his stint in the purple and gold would be his final act. But now he may move on soon after this dismal 2021-22 season.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, James' representatives at Klutch Sports are not pleased with the Lakers. Their relationship is “at its lowest point” amid an utterly disappointing season. Pincus said that the team may have to make a key decision on James this summer since he can become a free agent after next season.

Ahead of the trade deadline, GM Rob Pelinka had the chance to tinker with the Lakers' roster in a way that Klutch Sports would have found favorable. He passed on the chance to do so, putting the nail in his coffin, according to Pincus.

According to multiple NBA sources, Klutch is not happy with Pelinka. The sentiment has long percolated, but it reached a boil when Pelinka refused to trade Westbrook and a future first-round pick (likely 2027) for Houston Rockets guard and Klutch client John Wall.

Although Pelinka's stance makes sense — Wall may not have been good enough to turn the Lakers around — he may have drastically affected the team's future. James didn't shoot down the possibility of joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in the midst of a title chase with the Lakers. He also had some very kind things to say about Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti at the All-Star media availability sessions.

Pelinka has found ways to retool the roster around James several times but only once has it worked. It seems very unlikely that both he and James are with the Lakers in the near future.
