No matter what happens, debates in the NBA will always happen. Recently, “The Last Dance” documentary lit up the debates about Michael Jordan and LeBron James. On ESPN Countdown, the crew discussed about Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Paul Pierce gave the nod to Kobe for the reason that he wanted the ball in The Mamba's hands when the game is on the line. However, Kendrick Perkins claimed it was much easier to take down Bryant than James.

Perkins argued that during the 2008 playoffs, the Boston Celtics, where Pierce and Perkins played together as teammates, had a more difficult time knocking off the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers. To recall, the Celtics needed to go the distance to eliminate James and the Cavs, including a tightly-contested decider in Game 7.

On the one hand, when they faced the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers in the NBA Finals, it seems like Perkins found the journey to the championship much easier. Boston won the NBA championship in six games and blew out the Lakers in the Game 6 to clinch the crown.

If it isn't obvious at this point, Perkins is a big LeBron guy. In fact, he also advocated that James is the GOAT over Michael Jordan.

James and Bryant are obviously two of the all-time greats. Unfortunately, the two generational superstars never faced off in the NBA Finals to settle things once and for all. Nonetheless, while both have their fair share of naysayers, they still have their millions of supporters all over the world.

As with pretty much everything, to each his own. Let's just appreciate greatness as it is. Lakers fans surely can.
