Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant has no interest in pitching in for free agents to come to L.A. next summer, or any summer for that matter.

The Lakers legend explained that while he wishes the best for this franchise and wants to see its return to prominence, he won't take part in becoming a lure for those debating a stint with the Lakers.

“Why? No. It’s not my job. I’m busy, I’m happy doing what I’m doing now in creating stories,” said Bryant in an interview on Spectrum SportsNet. “Listen, I’m a Laker for life, man. I’d love nothing more than to see this organization back to where it belongs. Jeanie knows, Magic knows, Rob knows. I’m always around for them.”

Kobe Bryant has made it pretty clear through his year-and-some stint since retirement that he has left every ounce of basketball-related sweat on the court through his 20 years in Hollywood.

The Lakers are expected to make a run at some of the biggest names in free agency next summer, including Paul George and LeBron James.

This franchise has plenty of star power as it is, boasting a Hall of Famer as president in Magic Johnson, as well as a familiar face in former agent-turned-general-manager Rob Pelinka, along with the cluster of stars that attend home games every year.
