The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off an impressive win which snapped a nine-game skid. Kyle Kuzma and company crushed the visiting Atlanta Hawks and showed signs of their form from earlier in the season.

Even though the longest losing streak of the season has come to an end and the Lakers are healthy once again, the main storyline continues to be LaVar Ball's critical comments about Luke Walton. The comments from LaVar has caused quite a stir on social media as well as on many different news outlets which have lead to Walton and his players fielding questions on the subject.

After practice on Monday, Kuzma was asked how he and his teammates can not allow the noise to affect the team. The rookie forward had some interesting comments about the subject and how it has impacted his generation of players.

“It's kind of hard,” Kuzma said. “In our society, social media is so big in our lives. All over the place. You know, ESPN puts out anything for clicks it kind of seems like. It's all over the place. You can't really hide from it. It's just a thing that you just have to deal with it and move passed it. No other generation of players have had to deal with what we have to deal with in our era. It's a little different you just have to block it out.”

It's hard to argue with Kuzma's comments on his generation and what they've got to deal with on a daily basis. The criticism, rumors, harassment, and endless speculation is an everyday occurance which can make it difficult to block out everything that's out there, especially when every news outlet picks it up.

Social media has become a significant part of our society these days. No matter what age or ethnicity you may be nor what profession of choice is, social media impacts almost everyone in this country, and in the world for that matter, in some form or another.

Whether it be Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, or Instagram, there's a good chance you or someone close to you frequents these social media platforms on a daily basis. It's just a part of everyday life now and with what professional athletes have to deal with on these platforms every single day is on another level entirely.

Despite the added distraction of the social media age we live in, Kuzma and the Lakers still have their sights set on turning this organization around. Los Angeles will try to keep it going on Tuesday night when they host the Sacramento Kings in an effort to win two straight before taking on the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night at the Staples Center.
