The Los Angeles Lakers have traded Lonzo Ball as part of a package to the New Orleans Pelicans for superstar Anthony Davis.

Along with Ball, the Lakers sent Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart, as well as a slew of draft picks (including the fourth-overall). Of course, Lonzo is what LaVar Ball is most interested in.

The patriarch of the Ball family has been oddly quiet for the last year or so. He opened up again after the big trade — and this should get fun.

There's a lot you can say about LaVar Ball, but you can't deny the man is confident in his family.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Ball has been one of the most outspoken people in the NBA. Of course he's going to have some strong words about the team that traded his son.

That being said, his words don't hold much weight, relative to what the Lakers will do. It's obvious he isn't happy with the organization and isn't about to give it any praise (although Anthony Davis and LeBron James together will definitely cause problems for the rest of the NBA).

While he ripped into the Lakers, LaVar Ball actually seemed complimentary of the Pelicans. That bodes well for them; he didn't seem too fond of the Pelicans not that long ago.

The real question is, do we have a new curse? Ball proclaimed that now that the Lakers have traded his son they'll never win a championship again. How long until that “curse” is broken?

Do we have a new “Curse of the Bambino”? Or will the Lakers be lifting the trophy with James and Davis as the stars in the next few seasons?

No matter what, this has certainly woken up the NBA just days after the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship and ended the season.
