Los Angeles Lakers superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis continued to make history in their 124-114 Game 2 win over the Miami Heat. James scored a game-high 33 points on 14-of-25 shooting, while Davis dropped 32 points on an extremely efficient 15-of-20 night.

According to Justin Kubatko of StatMuse, Friday night became the 8th time in these 2020 playoffs that the Lakers tandem scored at least 25 points each, while shooting 50-plus percent from the field in the same game. James and Davis, by far, have the most such games in a single postseason in league history, with no other pair recording more than five.

To add to his 33-point night, LeBron James almost notched a triple-double with nine rebounds and nine assists. Meanwhile, Davis hauled down 14 rebounds and even made 12 of his first 13 shots from the field.

In addition, James and Davis also became the first Lakers to both score 30-plus points in a Finals game since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. That happened nearly two decades ago, in Game 3 of the 2002 NBA Finals.

The Purple and Gold superstar tandem has made it look easy through the first two games of the Finals. Los Angeles has been dominant on both ends of the floor and this is in large part due to the spectacular play of James and Davis in both games.

Anthony Davis preceded his 32-point night with a 34-point performance in Game 1. On the other hand, James also nearly recorded a trip dub in Game 1, with 25 points, 13 boards, and nine dimes in the series opener.

The Lakers look to put a stranglehold on this Finals series against the short-handed Heat with a Game 3 win on Sunday.
