Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James was the last player to speak on the joint call with owners on Thursday, per Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report.

James, the face of the NBA, demanded serious dedication from the owners in advancing the social justice cause. The Lakers star wants more work to be done or else the players won't play again.

“Sources say LeBron James was the last player to speak on the call and he delivered a strong, thoughtful message to the owners,” Rooks reported.

“His main point was that the work has to continue, and the owners have to truly dedicate to advancing this cause.”

LeBron James initially wanted the rest of the 2020 playoffs to be canceled. However, the three-time champion and four-time MVP had a change of heart and is now ready to continue the postseason as scheduled.

James and the Lakers are up 3-1 on the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. Los Angeles has to win one more game against Portland to advance to the second round.

Games on Wednesday and Thursday were postponed in the wake of the tragic Jacob Blake shooting. Blake was shot seven times in the back and is now paralyzed. He is the latest unarmed black man to be shot by the police despite not committing a crime.

It is still unknown when the Lakers and Blazers will play Game 5. When it does take place, James and the Lakers will be favored to close out the series since Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard has left the bubble to address his knee injury.
