The Los Angeles Lakers had a tremendous bounce-back victory on Friday night, as they secured a 95-86 victory against the Utah Jazz in their first home game of the new campaign.

LeBron James led the way for the Lakers, logging a game-high 32 points (on 12-of-22 from the field), one three-pointer, seven rebounds, 10 assists, a steal, and just one turnover in 31 minutes of action. According to the three-time NBA champ himself, however, he could not have come out with such an amazing performance had it not been for the contributions of one man in particular — Lakers third-year point guard Alex Caruso.

“Allows me to play off the ball a little bit,” LeBron James said, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN. “I still handled it a lot, but I don't have to handle it as much and I'm able to get to my spot and play a little bit more in the low post where I'm very dynamic down there, being able to triple-threat, being able to find my guys, find my shot as well. And make the defense shift a lot.”

Alex Caruso did not exactly stuff the stat sheet on Friday night, as the 6-foot-5 point guard recorded just two points, a steal, and two turnovers in 20 minutes of play. As described by LeBron, though, Caruso's contributions go way beyond the box score, as his presence on the floor allows James to do his own thing.

There is a bit of an overabundance of guards in L.A. at the moment, but Caruso has certainly done well for himself here as he hopes to secure a more significant role in the team's rotation moving forward.
