Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James honored late Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman with a Wakanda salute prior to Game 5 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.

Chadwick Boseman passed away on Friday after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Chadwick Boseman portrayed Jackie Robinson at 42 and became an integral part of the Marvel universe with Black Panther. His Wakanda sign became a staple among Marvel fans and nearly everyone all over the world mimicked the gesture. It's also worth noting that he filmed this highly physical film while fighting through cancer.

The NBA honored the Black Panther and 42 star, along with former Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Clifford Robinson and legendary Arizona coach Lute Olson prior to Saturday's games. Robinson passed away on Saturday after a year-long battle with lymphoma, his family revealed in a recently released statement. Olson, meanwhile, died at the age of 85.

People all over the globe, including several players across the NBA, mourned Chadwick Boseman's death upon learning of his passing. Tributes flooded social media with how he fought through all the pain these past four years while continuing to film and do his job at a high level.

On a side not, Indiana Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo once suited up with a Black Panther mask during the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk competition with Chadwick Boseman looking on. The two had an exchange and even did the Wakanda sign together.

The world will continue to honor the late Hollywood actor for his grit and determination despite battling the deadly disease. Rest in power, Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda forever.
