Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has become a modern staple of the NBA game, so it comes as no surprise to see him lead the race as this rookie class' favorite player.

The newly-signed Los Angeles Lakers forward led the vote at the NBA's Annual Rookie Survey with 29 percent, while the Golden State Warriors duo of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant ranked right behind at 9 percent each.

Other like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook received 6 percent of the vote, as James was far and away the top choice for this talented class.

James led the race last season as well with 31 percent in the 2017 rookie survey — a sign that he's become this era's favorite player.

Most rookies have grown up watching James' career through their high school and college years, including his repeated trips to the NBA Finals.

The Lakers icon; Kobe Bryant, is still getting votes two years into his retirement — getting an honorable mention despite being out of the game since 2016 after a 60-point explosion penned the last few words of his last chapter in the league.

Nevertheless, The King's reach goes beyond normal fans and is touching those who are about to play their first NBA season.
