Lakers superstar was asked to give his reaction to the trade that sent Andre Iguodala to the Miami Heat. James, a two-time champion with the Heat (2012 and 2013), believes the deal makes his former team better.

“I saw it and I was like, ‘OK.' I think it makes them a better team because of his championship DNA, you add that to that championship culture down there,” James said, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin. “So it helps them right away. I know that ‘Dre is happy to be suiting it back up”

As the Lakers star noted in his reply, Iguodala is likely happy to be playing again. He wasn't with the Grizzlies throughout the first half of this season, as he was waiting for a buyout or trade from the team.

Iguodala has agreed to a two-year, $30 million extension with Miami, sources say. His new teammate, Jimmy Butler, seems to be happy about the trade, noting that the younger players on the team can learn a lot from a veteran like Iggy.

“We’re ready to go to war,” the Heat star said, via Ben Golliver of the Washington Post. “We know we can compete with the best of them.”

Iguodala made 68 appearances with the Warriors during the 2018-19 campaign (13 starts), racking up averages of 5.7 points on 50.0 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from beyond the arc), 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and just under one steal (0.9) in 23.2 minutes per outing.

Let's see how Iguodala fares with this new opportunity. The Lakers star would like to see it, as well.
