LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered their fourth consecutive loss on Wednesday night, falling to the Clippers in a highly-anticipated Christmas Day matchup.

The Lakers were leading at halftime and held a 15-point advantage at one point in the third quarter. However, Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers on a late rally, and Patrick Beverley closed out the game with a key block on LeBron in the closing seconds. Leonard finished with 35 points, setting a franchise record for points scored on Christmas.

Though he took a flying knee to the groin from Beverley in the first quarter, James remained in the game, finishing with 23 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. His shot was off the mark for most of the night, though, as he went 9-of-24 from the field and 2-of-12 from beyond the arc.

James, who is currently listed as day-to-day, knows the regular season is a marathon, but he says the Lakers just need to get better:

“We've just got to get better,” James told ClutchPoints. “I said that even during the win streaks, the road streaks. You stay even-keeled throughout the whole season no matter what. No matter if you're losing or you're winning, because its a marathon and a new narrative can be made the next day or the next opportunity you get to go on the court. We'll just continue to work on habits.

“I think defensively we got back to how we play defense tonight,” James added. “Offensively, we have to be better. I had some late turnovers in the fourth quarter that were very costly and we missed a lot of our perimeter shots, including myself. We just have to be a little bit better.”

James and the Lakers will look to snap their four-game losing streak on Saturday, when they kick off a back-to-back set with a matchup in Portland against the Trail Blazers.
