We all know that LeBron James is one of the most gifted facilitators in the NBA, but according to advanced metrics, LeBron James is the most accurate passer in the NBA. This has been huge for the Los Angeles Lakers — especially for guys like Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball. Both are shooting above 40 percent from deep this season and James' pinpoint accuracy is a factor in their efficiency.

Fred Katz of The Athletic writes:

“James is the most accurate passer ChartSide evaluated, completing 77 percent of his passes on catch-and-shoots into the shooting pocket last year. And Hart will benefit from those catches, as did the Cavaliers who ran alongside a man who creates his offense in a dissimilar way from the other four players mentioned in this study.

James created the majority of his stand-still 3s last year out of the post, according to ChartSide. The four other guys, all guards, boast a less diverse profile, operating mostly out of pick-and-rolls and isolation.”

The four other players who dished out a lot of spot-up assists were James Harden, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and John Wall. James is the obvious outlier in that group, but all five are among the best passers in the league. James can do everything on the court, but he's at his best when he's drawing extra defenders and kicking out to open shooters.

James' precision passing has been a key for the Lakers this season and it should be fun to watch LeBron facilitate the offense as the team begins to jell.
