Yes, you read that right. Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young, who suited up for the Purple and Gold for four seasons, is about to get in the boxing ring and fight rapper Blueface at Crypto.com Arena on July 30th, per TMZ Sports.

The bout is part of the Social Gloves event, which features several Youtubers who will also step in the ring, including Austin McBroom and AnEsonGib. Young, who left the Lakers in 2017 to go join the Warriors where he won a title the next year, has limited experience when it comes to boxing but he's constantly calling out fellow celebrities and athletes on social media. Swaggy P has expressed an interest in boxing the likes of Logan Paul, Chad Ochocinco, and Gilbert Arenas.

As for Blueface, well he gave TikTok star Kane Trujillo an absolute beatdown last July in a fight then shortly after, the rapper had to throw hands after a fan tried to attack him:

Young retired from the NBA after the 2018-19 season after appearing in just four games with the Denver Nuggets. One of his longest stints in the league was with his hometown Lakers. It wouldn't be a surprise to see some Lakeshow fans make their way down to Crypto.com in late July to support him because he was one of the most likable players in LA at the time.
