Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal had a hilarious response on LaVar Ball's comment regarding Lonzo Ball being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Right after the news was made public that Lonzo was off to New Orleans, the Ball patriarch called it “the worst” move by the organization. O'Neal, a former Laker himself who was also traded by the team, chimed in on LaVar's comments. For him, the Ball trade was the “second worst” move by the Lakers.

Sure enough, the big man was implying that the worst move was when the Lakers traded him to the Miami Heat in 2004. The move effectively broke up the Kobe-Shaq duo — one of the most successful one-two punch combinations in NBA history. Their tandem resulted in four trips to the NBA Finals and a three-peat.

There are different sides to the story. Some say that O'Neal wanted to stay — albeit only if the Lakers offered him a hefty contract. Since the team didn't have the capacity to grant his wishes, they had no choice but to trade him away. On top of this, he and Bryant weren't exactly seeing eye to eye with each other. And it spilled on over to the basketball court. Their loss to the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals proved to be the final blow: the Lakers dynasty has finally come to an end.

Despite all the drama behind the curtains, the tandem did achieve immortality in the basketball world. Sure, it could've been the worst move by the Lakers. But during its peak, the Kobe and Shaq duo was one of the most dominant and exciting pair-ups in the history of sports.
