The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Maker 2 just added a new crossover event. Nintendo has just released a special Zelda Ninji Speedrun course for fans to play as Link and shoot out some arrows in the blocky world of Super Mario. Fans can only play the course, entitled “Link's Lightweight Longshots”, for a limited time this November so don't miss out on your chance!

According to a Nintendo tweet, the launch of the new Zelda-themed Ninji Speedrun in Super Mario Maker 2 comes as part of the celebration of the release of Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda system this week. Game & Watch Zelda features three iconic titles from the franchise—the original Legend of ZeldaZelda II, and Link's Awakening—on a retro-looking handheld inspired by the original Game & Watch systems produced by Nintendo in the 1980s. It's primarily marketed as a collector's items, but fans can still enjoy playing the classic games for nostalgic fun.

Released in 2019, Super Mario Maker 2 delivers players with creative freedom to make their own Mario worlds and courses, available on the Nintendo Switch platform. Besides the creative mode, it also comes with a story mode with about 100 built-in courses for fans to enjoy all the blocky, coin-collecting, cannon-dodging fun.

Previously, Link arrived in version 2.0 of Super Mario Maker 2. The character still carries around the Master Sword and his ever-present bow and arrow. He also brings a pocketful of bombs and has a new downwards thrust move similar to how Mario can pound the ground.

The Zelda-themed Speedrun is only available in Super Mario Maker 2 until November 21, 2021.
