Zelda fans can now get their hands on an all new yet retro-inspired collectible item with the release of Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda. In this stylish handheld, players can revisit three classic titles—The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and Link's Awakening. Here's when Zelda will be coming out on the Game & Watch system.

Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda Release Date: November 12, 2021

Long-time fans of the franchise, avid collectors and casual players alike can look forward to Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda arriving this November 12, 2021. The system serves as a tribute both to 35 years of Zelda as well as the first-ever handheld gaming devices that Nintendo created. As such, Game & Watch's design gives off a very retro vibe from the 80s, with a gold metal front plate and green color scheme.

Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda is the second Game & Watch system from Nintendo, following the success of Super Mario Bros. Fans will get both the English and Japanese versions of the iconic titles and explore Hyrule all over again. Rescue the princess from Ganon and collect the eight fragments for the Triforce of Wisdom in Legend of Zelda, then embark on another saving mission and side-scroll your way through dungeons in Zelda II as the princess falls to a sleeping spell. Finally, in Link's Awakening, awaken the Wind Fish by finding eight musical instruments on Koholint Island.

Besides these three classics, Nintendo also included a reimagined Vermin, an old Game & Watch title featuring Link as the starring character. Just like the original system, the release includes a timer mode where you can try and beat as many enemies as you can in Zelda II during the time limit of up to 10 minutes. You can also freeze your game to ‘save' your progress and switch between the different titles.

Whether you're revisiting the fantasy world or adding a new collection to your shelf, Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda definitely offers a unique experience for the classic games and you wouldn't want to miss out on it.
