Washington Football fans were taken aback when veteran ball-carrier Adrian Peterson was recently released and failed to make the team's final 53-man roster. Not long after, it seems like he already found a new home in the Detroit Lions. Peterson will also be reuniting with a familiar face in his arrival in Motor City.

NFL insider Josina Anderson tweeted where the 14-year veteran will play in the upcoming season via Twitter:

Darrell Bevell is the current offensive coordinator of the Lions and served the same role with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2006 to 2010. Peterson also played the best years of his career with the same franchise, particularly during the 2012 season. He broke the 2,000 rushing yard mark en route to bagging the 2012 NFL MVP, 2012 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, a first-team All-Pro team selection, and a Pro Bowl appearance.

Adrian Peterson eventually ended his tenure with the Vikings in the 2016 season and had pitstops with the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals afterward. He found his way to Washington when he was signed on a veteran deal back in 2018 following a number of preseason injuries to the team's running backs. He also contributed 898 rushing yards on 251 attempts and five rushing touchdowns prior to being released during the offseason.

The former Heisman Trophy winner is hoping to replicate the same success as he reunites once again with Bevell this time in Detroit. He will be a welcome addition to a Lions side that is aiming to surprise many teams and enter the playoff picture in the upcoming season.
