The Detroit Lions' season is coming to a close this Sunday, so it makes sense that the team is already considering securing assets for their future. One of the players they want to keep in the team is wide receiver Kenny Golladay.

The 26-year-old wideout has established himself as one of the better passing targets in the NFL today. While the Lions have failed to make the playoffs this year, he's not averse to rejoining the roster and building his roots in Motor City.

According to Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper, Kenny Golladay is more than happy to talk terms with the team that drafted him in 2017. He's made it certain to Detroit fans that he'll hear what the team has to say before even thinking about talking with other teams.

“We haven’t talked about it,” Golladay said, via the team’s website. “I’m sure we will the next few months or so. Everything will work itself out. I’m very grateful to be here. [Detroit] definitely took a shot on me and that would be a good way to repay them.”

There's a reason why Detroit should do everything in its power to keep Kenny Golladay in the Motor City. In only his third season, he's established himself as the leading pass option for the Lions' offense. He's notched 1118 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns in only 62 catches. It's a definite improvement on his sophomore season, where he got 1063 yards and five touchdowns on 70 receptions.

It's likely that they'll give Kenny Golladay a huge contract to convince him to stay. It will be a huge blunder on the part of the Lions front office if they don't get their star wideout to sign on the dotted line. They have to have him in the fold next season to anchor the passing game and provide stability.
