With the 2022 National Football League regular season schedule officially out, no fanbase can be more irate currently than that of the Detroit Lions.

Teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, and Philadelphia Eagles all have five primetime games this upcoming season.

Overall, 13 NFL teams have a league-leading five primetime games on their schedule.

Then you have the Detroit Lions –– the only team in the NFL without a single primetime game in their schedule.

Six NFL teams have one primetime in their schedule –– the New York Giants, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Falcons. While only one primetime game is not great, it could be worse. By worse, of course, you could be a Lions fan.

With young exciting prospects like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Aidan Hutchinson on the roster, it is a little bit surprising that the NFL does not plan on featuring the Lions in a single primetime game.

With the Lions not expected to compete for a playoff spot this season, there is a decent chance that the only national television game Detroit will play this season is their Thanksgiving game.

Speaking of Detroit on Thanksgiving, Detroit is playing their 89th consecutive game on Thanksgiving this year — dating back to 1934.

Even if the Lions do not have any primetime games in the short term, the team and its fans can take comfort in the fact that the Lions will always have a game on Thanksgiving to look forward to.
