Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has now put pen to paper on a rookie deal.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted on Thursday that Williams and the Lions have come to terms on a four-year deal. The agreement between the two sides is fully guaranteed and as a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the all-around receiver will have a fifth-year option on his contract.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide wideout is slated to earn $17.5 million over his opening four seasons in the NFL, which include having a cap hit of $2.1 million for the 2022 campaign. Furthermore, he is also taking home a $9.8 million signing bonus.

The Lions now have both of their first-round selections from this year’s draft under contract just in time for the start of their rookie minicamp schedule this weekend. Former Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson came to terms on his rookie contract deal with the team earlier this week. On the other hand, their third-round pick in Kerby Joseph also signed his rookie contract on Thursday, agreeing to a four-year, $5.0 million deal.

Williams is coming off of a stout season in what turned out to be his lone campaign at Alabama. The speed wideout posted career highs in receiving yards (1,572) and receiving touchdowns (15), as he emerged as a reliable target for quarterback Bryce Young.

Williams’ season came to an end during the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, as he suffered a torn ACL injury in the first half of the contest. He did mention last month that he should be “ready to go” by the start of the Lions’ training camp schedule.
