Sadio Mane officially left Liverpool on Friday, with Bayern Munich set to pay them £35.1million for the Senegalese frontman. It's truly the end of an era at Anfield and Reds legend Jamie Carragher couldn't help but react in the most heartfelt way possible to Mane departing.

Mane was truly a star at Liverpool, solidifying himself as one of the most clinical finishers in Europe. The 30-year-old came over from Southampton in 2016 and went on to score 90 goals in 196 Premier League appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side. He also netted 16 times in the 2021-22 campaign. But, Mane made it clear during the season that he was keen on a new challenge elsewhere this summer before becoming a free agent in 2023. The day after they lost the Champions League final, he officially told the Reds he wanted out.

It was by no means an ugly divorce or anything and Liverpool already signed his replacement, splashing the cash on Benfica standout Darwin Nunez, who will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Luis Diaz. Bayern meanwhile will be absolutely thrilled to get a player of Mane's caliber, especially because it's looking more and more like Robert Lewandowski could head to Barcelona. But even if he doesn't their attack could look very dangerous with Mane and Lewa.

Liverpool fans are undoubtedly going to miss Sadio Mane and so will Jamie Carragher. He'll forever be remembered for his contributions over the last number of years on the Merseyside.
