With former RB1 Leonard Fournette now out of the picture for the Jacksonville Jaguars, someone has to step and inherit the scoring load in the backfield. The team may potentially find its new big-time rusher in undrafted rookie James Robinson. The 22-year old ball-carrier will aim to let his actions do the talking for him on the gridiron in the upcoming season.

“I'm a very quiet guy,” he said, via the Jaguars' team website. “Everyone says that around here.”

Jaguars offensive coordinator Jay Gruden also remarked the quiet nature of the rookie running back:

“He's a no-nonsense guy, he really is,” he said. “I try to get under his skin a little bit. I ask him if he's nervous every day. He's a very poised individual, no nonsense. He's ready to go.

“I know he's excited. He won't show it though. I haven't seen him smile but twice the whole time he's been here. He's a very focused guy and I think he'll be ready.”

“We'll see how he does, but we have every indication that we've seen in training camp that he can handle it,” the Jaguars coach said. “He can handle the workload. He's tough. He's strong. He's got great vision. He can explode through holes. We've been impressed with him.”

James Robinson came off a four-year stint with the Illinois State Redbirds football team. His eventful collegiate career was highlighted by his three first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference inclusions and a first-team FCS All-American selection. He ultimately finished his collegiate career with a total of 4,444 rushing yards, a record for second-most in school history. He'll try to replicate the same strong performance for the Jaguars

Despite being an accomplished amateur, he will still face a tall task to fill in the shoes left by the productive veteran in Fournette. However, his no-nonsense approach to the game may ultimately help him take a step closer to becoming a contributor for the Jaguars' offense. For the undrafted rookie, the sky is the limit, and there is nowhere to go but up from here.
