Orlando Magic power forward Aaron Gordon recorded his first career NBA triple-double on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Behind 17 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists from Gordon, the Magic defeated the Timberwolves at home to improve to 27-32 on the season.

Gordon came into Friday averaging 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Orlando. The Magic are looking to make the playoffs for the second straight season. They lost to the Toronto Raptors in the first round of last year's playoffs in five games.

The Magic selected Gordon with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Arizona. He holds career averages of 12.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists with Orlando.

Aaron Gordon didn't win the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest in Chicago even though he jumped over Boston Celtics giant Tacko Fall. While this triple-double doesn't make up for the trophy which should be at his house, the win over Minnesota was big for the Magic in their playoff fight.

The Magic are holding the seventh seed in the East, though teams like the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards are not too far behind in the standings.
