After hurting his ankle in Game 1 of their second round series against the Boston Celtics on Sunday, Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris says Al Horford may have undercut him on purpose to try and injure him.

The 27-year-old Kansas product made the bold claim via A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE. Morris then gave an update on his condition and the chances of him seeing action in Game 2 of the series.

“He stepped right under my foot. Not sure if it was intentional or not; probably not, but that’s what happened. Rolled it on his foot.”

“Feeling better. The swelling went down a whole lot. I’m just going to keep treating it and get ready for Game Two.”

However, Horford denied intentionally putting his foot on his landing spot to cause an ankle sprain. The 6-foot-10 center also wished him well and made it clear that he doesn't want to see anybody get hurt.

“I understand that he's frustrated. One of my strengths is on defense and challenging shots. It was a tough break. I really feel bad for him. You don't want anybody to get hurt. He's a great player. I hope that he's able to play tomorrow.”

The Celtics and Wizards have turned out to be unexpected rivals this season following their hotly contested regular season meetings. With Morris' accusation, it could add more fuel to the fire and make their Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup even more competitive.
