UFC 268 had its fair share of surprising moments. This includes big knockouts, highlight reel kicks, and upsets. The Frankie Edgar vs Marlon Vera fight had quite the amount of surprise as Vera landed a big front kick knockout and flipped off Edgar during the fight.

Many were surprised to see the gesture as there didn't seem to be any bad blood between the two. Marlon Vera explained the gesture backstage in his post-fight UFC 268 interview.

“It’s just mind games,” Vera said (transcription via MMAJunkie). “We made eye contact. He gave me like a tough look, so I’m like, ‘Fuck you, what?’ At the end of the day, he’s a legend. I wish him the best. He’s a fighter. A lot of people believe we should be hugging each other and bowing. Like, no. We’re fighting for money. We’re not fighting for fun or a medal. We fight to feed our families. I fight to become a world champion.”

The two were jawing at each other during the fight at UFC 268 as the contest went back and forth. Marlon Vera had the advantage in the stand-up while Frankie Edgar had the wrestling advantage.

Marlon Vera was the one who found the finish late in the fight. The Ecuadorian bantamweight landed a huge front kick KO on Frankie Edgar that instantly dropped the former champion.

UFC 268 delivered as an event with many exciting fights going down with a slew of exciting finishes. Marlon Vera will be looking to capitalize on the victory.
