Luka Doncic continues to dazzle in just his second year as an NBA player. His brilliance at the start of the 2019-20 NBA regular season has certainly caught everyone’s attention — including the greatest player to ever don the Dallas Mavericks uniform.

Dirk Nowitzki was in awe after the 20-year-old Mavs prodigy dropped yet another monster performance in Dallas’ 131-11 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.

Doncic produced yet another complete stat-line of 29 points (9-of-17 FG) to go along with 14 rebounds and 15 assists. He also made five of his ten attempts from three.

This is his second consecutive triple-double performance after dropping 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 15 assists against the Los Angeles Lakers, in a game where he stood toe-to-toe against the LeBron James. Doncic even received plenty of compliments from “The King” himself after the game.

The Mavericks now hold a 4-2 record in the tough Western Conference standings, with Doncic leading the charge averaging 26.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 8.4 dimes.

Nowitzki, meanwhile, spent his entire career in Dallas and was teammates with Donic in his swan song last year.

The pair seemed to have developed quite a bond despite their massive age gap and short tenure together.

Nowitzki is regarded as the best European player to ever play in the NBA, leading the Mavs to the title in 2011. After several disappointing seasons, Dallas is now in prime position to once again contend for a championship after pairing up Doncic with another European star in Kristaps Porzingis in the offseason.
