It is safe to say that Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is happy he's with Team LeBron in the NBA All-Star Game 2022. The Mavs playmaker was a huge LeBron James fan growing up, so imagine his delight to see his idol pick him for his own team.

It's not the first time LeBron has chosen Luka to be on his All-Star squad–this is his third time actually. However, that feeling of excitement and glee never fades whenever the Mavs star sees it.

During last week's NBA All-Star Draft, Doncic made sure to watch it live on TNT. James made “Luka Magic” the first reserve pick, which brought smiles to the face of the youngster.

“He’s one of the best players to ever play this game. As a kid, I look up to him, so it’s really a special moment when he picks me. I’m really glad that he picks me,” Doncic said, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

While Luka Doncic failed to make it to the competition as a starter, he remains as excited as he was before during his two earlier stints in the All-Star Game. In fact, he remains focused on bringing home the win and maintaining his immaculate record with Team LeBron.

“I think that team is going to win again, hopefully, so I’ll be 3-0 after this,” the Mavs guard added.

LeBron James' influence on Luka's game is quite clear when you look at how Doncic has developed his all-around game. Even though he is not as athletic as LeBron, Luka's scoring, playmaking and rebounding do have shades of King James in them.

Hopefully, fans get to see LeBron and Luka playing alongside each other. Who knows, it'll be insane to see Doncic throw a lob to LeBron for an alley-oop dunk–or maybe the opposite can happen in some sort of a passing the torch.
