We finally have ourselves a big time Metal Gear Solid Remake update. This one features key information on a both Konami and a studio called Virtuous.

There's just a ton to unpack here, so let's get after it with the fury of 1,000 angry Big Boss close quarter combat punches.

Metal Gear Solid Remake Update

It's first worth noting that this seems more like inference and/or speculation than a legitimate report, but along with other newsy bombshells, it's been replayed that the Metal Gear Solid Remake is leaving the hands of Konami directly and being gently tossed into an outsider's — allegedly a studio called Virtuous.

Virtuous is a pretty huge studio that usually focuses on supporting Triple A titles (not so much being the full developing team behind them).

Honestly, with the man who actually created the entire franchise gone from the developer, maybe it having zero involvement in this remake (and possible full reboot?) would be an excellent idea. Take the franchise in a SLIGHTLY new direction with a new lead and new developer.

Given there's remasters allegedly on the way, it does lend to the idea that Konami is looking to gauge fans' interest in a potential full reboot, using this specific remake as the key way to determine the market for a complete overhaul.

There's still no news on any potential release dates. Moreover, with Konami missing a few key events, it is possible they are biding their time until they drop a trailer out of nowhere that will stun the MG community. Nonetheless, if this report is to be believed, and Virtuous is really taking it over, this is indeed a massive Metal Gear Solid Remake update. Whether or not it's good or bad, only time will tell. I, personally, am looking at this through rose tinted glasses, so… let's go!
