The New York Mets were far from a potent offense in the 2021 season. They ranked in the bottom half in multiple hitting stats in the National League, which included ranking at 12th in both home runs (176) and OPS (.705).

Heading into the upcoming 2022 season, Francisco Lindor sees plenty of potential with what the Mets lineup can produce in the campaign.

“It's a good offense,” Lindor said on Sunday after the Mets' spring training win against the St. Louis Cardinals. “We're gonna do some damage if we stay healthy and we stay within ourselves.

“We're gonna do whatever it takes to score runs.”

Injuries did mar the Mets lineup last season. For one, Lindor missed time over the second half of the year due to a right oblique injury. He wound up playing in 77 percent of regular season games, which was his lowest since his rookie year.

With the likes of Mark Canha and Starling Marte now in the fold, there sure is much expectation for the Mets lineup to emerge as a force in the National League this season. More so, plenty of attention will center on Lindor following his sluggish debut campaign with the Mets, where he posted career lows in batting average (.230) and OPS+ (101).
