Despite the Golden State Warriors‘ grabbing a win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night, there are growing rumblings that All-Star guard Klay Thompson could be unhappy with his role on the team.

It didn't take long for this chatter to come around to his father and former NBA player, Mychal Thompson, who quickly dismissed that notion on Friday morning during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Much of this has centered around Thompson's porous play offensively in the playoffs averaging 13.8 points on 36.6 percent shooting and 33.8 percent from beyond the arc, which are all postseason-career lows. He continued that trend in Game 1 against the Cavaliers tying a playoff low with six points on 3-of-16 shooting from the field.

Thompson hasn't aired any feelings of disgruntlement up to this point in the playoffs. He has instead stayed the course with his eyes toward the bigger goal of earning his second NBA title, which Golden State are just three games away from achieving.

Interim head coach Mike Brown and several other Warriors' players have voiced little to no concern about Thompson's offensive struggles and have touted his play on the defensive end of the floor. He had a huge impact in Game 1 defending the likes of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving on occasions.

With the Warriors' continuing to cruise through the playoffs, any talk of possible unhappiness from Thompson holds little water.
