After recently deciding to decline his player option for the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics, Al Horford's stock as a free agent continues to rise significantly. Right now, two other teams have emerged as new suitors for the signature of the 6-foot-10 big man, with the Sacramento Kings and the Philadelphia 76ers reportedly showing significant interest in Horford.

According to Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Kings and the Sixers are the two latest teams that will be buying a ticket for the Horford lottery.

In addition to teams such as the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans, who instantly emerged as possible landing spots, league sources say there are a few surprise bidders who are trying to land the veteran big man. These include the Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers.

At 32, Horford is nearing the twilight of his career. Nevertheless, he still remains to be a top-tier big man, and as reports emerged regarding his apparent unwillingness to stay in Boston for next season, a lot of teams came knocking.

Last season, in his third year in Boston, Horford put up 13.6 points (on 53.5 percent shooting), 1.1 three-pointers, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 29.0 minutes per contest. The experience and versatility he brings to the table could potentially propel an average team into a contender — given a proper set of teammates around him, of course.

With so many teams interested in Al Horford, it will not be surprising if the five-time All-Star is able to strike gold this summer, in what could be the final big-money deal of his career.
