Kendrick Perkins became embroiled with a now-infamous Twitter beef with Kevin Durant earlier this month. Perkins called out Durant for joining a Golden State Warriors squad that previously won 73 wins. While the former teammates beef appeared personal, the death of Kobe Bryant has Perkins living in retrospect.

Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning. The crash claimed the lives of eight others, including Bryant's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna. The outpouring of grief has reminded many that life is too short, and it's best to enjoy it while we are here.

Kendrick Perkins realized this and reached out to Durant via extending an apology for his comments.

While Durant hasn't responded yet, it's the thought that counts from Kendrick Perkins.

While Kevin Durant and Kendrick Perkins are celebrity athletes with money, the death of Bryant has made Perkins realize their status is null and void. At any time, he or Durant could leave the earth. It's best to make amends now than when someone isn't here anymore.

But this doesn't just apply to athletes, it applies to the rest of humanity. As human beings, there are friendships, family relationships that have soured. Naturally, they can be left to die and not become tended to.

But we can make amends with those people because nothing is worse than having someone not here anymore when the opportunity to repair the relationship was not taken. Whether Kevin Durant will accept Kendrick Perkins' apology is up to him, but good for Perk to extend his hand, knowing that life is too short.
