The 2020 Hall of Fame class is one of the best we have ever seen, as NBA legends Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant have all been inducted.

Garnett spoke on what it means to go into the Hall of Fame with Duncan and Bryant, as well as former WNBA star Tamika Catchings:

“To go in with these two guys, I couldn’t ask for two other people to go in with,” said Garnett, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. “And shout out to Tamika Catchings too. I’m a huge fan of Catch; Catch has put that grind in, she’s put that work in, and it’s dope to see all of us right here.”

Garnett added that it's probably “the most star-studded” Hall of Fame class in history and that the achievement is “supremely over the top.”

Of course, Bryant will unfortunately not be present at the ceremony this summer, as he tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in late January.

But Garnett fondly remembers his relationship with Bryant, as well as his NBA battles with Duncan:

“To meet Kobe early, we had a friendship and a real bond,” said Garnett. “To go up against Timmy and the countless battles, it’s just … I couldn’t put this story, with all the minor details … I couldn’t make this story more compelling than it already is. This is the perfect way to end a dope story.”

Garnett played 21 seasons in the NBA, spending 13 and a half of them across two separate stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He also spent six seasons with the Boston Celtics and a year and a half with the Brooklyn Nets, capturing a championship with the Celtics in 2008.

Now 43 years old, Garnett is widely recognized as the second-greatest power forward ever behind Duncan.
